VOIP represents the most significant paradigm shift in the entire history of modern communications since the invention of the telephone. - Michael Powell, Federal Communications Commission Chairman.
According to the Yankee Group, starting in 2006, VOIP will really take off. And by the end of 2008 some 17,5 million users, or about 16% of U.S. homes, will be VOIPing. Those guesstimates may be high or low. But the economics and features are too compelling for VOIP not to happen.

Entrepreneurialism and Protectionism Don't Mix
As many of you know, I'm a huge fan of Bill Gurley's
Above the Crowd newsletter. His latest column takes a look at
protectionism.
Here's a quick blurb...
"It is hard to imagine a successful entrepreneur arguing that he or she deserves a job over someone else that is equally skilled and willing to work for a lower wage. The entire spirit of entrepreneurialism is based on finding ways to do something better, faster, and cheaper. It is the whole nature of the game. If someone can do something better somewhere else, it simply means it's time to innovate again - with intellect and technology, not politics. "
This can definitely be a difficult issue...

A Little Change in the Weather
This morning I woke up to a mild cold front. And you know, it was actually nice. I usually hate any and all forms of cold weather. But I'm only talking about 65 degrees. So it was a nice change. I think we have a high of 79 today. I would love it if it would be 65 in the mornings and evenings and in the 90's during the day!
